Saybrook Garden club began over 50 years ago as a group who loved gardening. Over the years, the mission has expanded to include a different type of growing: Community & Philanthropy. We believe that together we can develop stronger friendships and a brighter future.
Saybrook Garden Club now cultivates community through events such as Salad Supper, Christmas Tea, Easter Egg hunt, Progressive Dinner, and an annual fundraiser for philanthropy. These gatherings allow neighbors of all ages to get to know each other in a deeper way. When friends need support or want to share a happy life change, we come together to cook meals when someone is ill, welcome new babies and celebrate promotions. The events give us a strong base of connection that makes it possible.
Saybrook Garden Club promotes growth in the community through philanthropy. We are most proud of our annual scholarships to high school students who attend Naperville North High School, plan to pursue a higher degree and/or training, and to whom life has challenged financially. Additionally we support activities for students in need at Jefferson Junior High and Beebe Elementary such as holiday gift giving, coat/boot drives, support for field trip fees, Beebe’s garden and more.
Garden Club also actively supports it’s teen led group, Saybrook Cares, which focuses on needs in the community and beyond including blood drives, blanket making, support of foster care providers, cleaning up parks, and much more.
